Brand template
Save your look once (shape, captions, logo, intro, outro, music) and put it on every clip of a video.
A brand template is a saved look. Pick it when you start a video and every clip of that video comes out that way: its shape, its captions, your logo, your intro and outro, and music under your voice.
Who gets templates
| Plan | Templates you can keep |
|---|---|
| Free | None |
| Starter | 1 |
| Pro | 2 |
| Business | 2 |
On the Free plan the Brand template page explains what templates do and has an Upgrade button. Compare the plans on the pricing page.
Make a template
- Open Brand template in the left menu and press New template.
- Give it a name, then set it up in the three groups: Style, Brand and Cleanup.
- Watch the preview. It shows your newest clip in that shape, or sample words when you have none yet.
- Press Save template.
The ... menu next to the name has Set as default, Duplicate and Delete. A copy counts toward your plan's limit.
Style
- Format: the shape of the clips.
- Layout: Auto follows whoever is speaking. Fill keeps the speaker filling the frame. Fit shows the whole picture on a blurred background. Wide clips show the whole picture, so they have no layout.
- Subtitles and their position.
- Auto headline: a hook headline over the first 5 seconds of each clip.
- Auto zoom: punch-ins on the moments that matter.
- Headline font: one of your own fonts, for the headline. Captions keep the font of their style.
Brand
Each of these uses a file from your Asset library. You can upload one on the spot.
- Logo: an image in one of the four corners. Set its size (5% to 40% of the frame's width), how see-through it is, and its distance from the edge. It sits over the video and under the captions.
- Intro and Outro: a video before and after each clip, up to 30 seconds each. A video of another shape is shown whole on a blurred background. It is never stretched.
- Music: plays under your voice for the length of the clip. It loops if it is shorter than the clip, and fades in and out.
Music starts 18 dB quieter than your voice. Move Level to change that, from 6 dB to 40 dB. A bigger number is quieter. Your voice is not changed.
Cleanup
Remove filler words and Remove pauses choose what Speech cleanup has ticked when you open one of the video's clips in the editor. They do not cut anything by themselves.
Use a template on a video
- On Home, pick the template under My templates. Its choices fill the form.
- Change anything you like for this one video.
- Submit the video.
Pick No template to make a video without one. Save these settings as my default keeps the form's own choices for next time.
A video keeps the look it was made with. Changing or deleting a template later does not change videos you already made.
Templates and the editor
The editor shows your logo over the clip. When you save an edit, your logo, intro, outro and music are added again, once each. A save takes longer with a template.
Keep the files a template used in your Asset library. If you delete one, later edits of older clips are saved without it.
Good to know
- A clip with an intro or outro is longer than the clip itself by their length.
- Viral Edit does not add your logo, intro, outro or music.
- Your files need room: Starter has 10 GB, Pro and Business have 100 GB.
